WWJS – To Me? The Meme
I have been tagged by Rachel for this meme which was started at Lord, I Believe. Wow! Nothing like being put on the spot for some brutal self-evaluation and reflection. Thanks Rach!!
So what would Jesus say to me?
1. “Look in the eyes of your son and breathe in his presence. Do you feel that love? Bottle that up dude. That’s my love and that’s what you’re supposed to be sharing with all my children.”
2. “Thanks for sitting down and taking the time to listen to me; it doesn’t happen enough – unless of course you need something. You should probably listen more cause you know what, I talk to you all the time - Hellooo!”
3. Take some more time for “deliberate prayer”. I dig your one liners and all but I would like to be involved in a grown up conversation with you.”
4. “You really are confident in your skin arent’ you? You’re not afraid to talk about me to both friends and strangers alike. You can say anything to anybody and you’re not afraid to try anything. That’s the kind of help I need. Now look past the end of your own nose and give credit where it’s due.”
5. “Be more patient. Look past people’s flaws, or at least what you think their flaws are; and remember that I use flawed people.”
6. “You’re mine and you have a very important task that you’ll be doing for me. When the time is right, I’m going to set you loose so get ready for that day now. Time is growing short!”
Now, who should I tag? Hmm………………. (jeopardy music playing in background)

Hey Bro. Love your honesty. I’m really glad so many of us are realising that while Jesus may gently chastise us for our failings, ultimately he wants to love, encourage and bless us too! In Aus it’s hard for us to even be realistic about our good points, let alone sound like we’re big noting ourselves as we have a culture of wanting to cut down anyone who might think they’re better than we are, or even anyone who has the nerve to stand up and actually be better! It’s called the ‘tall poppy syndrome’ and we love to chop off the head of an achiever. Sad but true. Yay that we can be who we are supposed to be and accept that God does actually like us and is (for the most part – if we’re in his will) pretty happy with us! Go Mike, your future is huge; now you get to lead Morgan into that hugeness along with you.

As soon as you mentioned that you were tagged I thought I better go and read the tag so I can start thinking about it for when you tag me! Turns out, I was correct!
I will post the tag soon!

Mike, thanks for this post. It’s a good one and I appreciate your participation in the meme. I have added a link to here on the original meme post – http://lordibelievehelpmyunbelief.blogspot.com/2007/11/wwjs-to-me.html.

Rachel ~ Wow! Thanks for the reply. Tall poppy syndrome huh? Reminds me of one of the signs I read at Despair.com. View the sign here. Unfortunately, that is not limited to the borders of Aus. There is a lot of it here in both the religious and secular world. It’s too bad as well. People will do almost anything to another to get ahead instead of giving praise for their achievements. I have found that since Jesus has come into my life, I do it less and I don’t care if it is done to me now. I’m really getting laid back. I hope and pray that I will set a good example for Morgan and that he will grow up loving the Lord.
Sean ~ Your discernment powers are astounding brother !!
I can’t wait to see what you write. Oh yeah, make sure you let Jim know that you posted so he can add your link.
Jim ~ Thanks for the visit and thank you for starting what I feel is a very important subject. I think that sometimes we need to take a good hard look at our self.

Hey Mike, Your responses were a lot different than mine. But since you said a lot of the things that I had thought about. I looked at it in a different way. What if I just bumped into Jesus walking down the street. Or in WalMart. Where ever. Hope you check it out.
But I like your responses a lot. Made me think about patience and reading the bible without my own person filters on.

Nate ~ I loved your response to the post. It was awesome and accurate. Of course, if I ran into Jesus at Walmart, he would be like, “Where’s the Star Wars action figures? Oh wait, I already know that huh?”
