Simply A Night Owl

Somewhere Deep in the Rabbit Hole

A Reflection and Meditation

with 2 comments

I have no idea why, but sometime last night in the middle of the night, this came to me.  I can’t even tell you if I was awake or not.  I was reminded of a service that I wrote about building the kingdom; that it requires us to walk in someone elses shoes for awhile.  I also wrote a reflection for the end of it.   The prodding last night was to re-visit the reflection and meditation; to give it some ”new light”.   I have provided the music that I used with the meditation portion of the service and I encourage you to get lost in it.    It is my hope that you will find peace within your thoughts.

For the next seven minutes, close your eyes and build a time capsule in your mind. Concentrate on how you’ve lived and how you’ve loved.  Think about your friends and your family, about all the people who have ever crossed your path; especially those that have left an imprint on your heart. Remember your favorite toy as a child, your favorite childhood games, your first love, your first kiss and your children being born. Re-live every aspect of your life, not just the joy, but also the pain. Re-live anything that you would want somone else to experience in order for them to understand how you lived and what makes you who you are.

  1. I read the sermon you referred to before listening to the music. It was very beautiful. I think it’s a great idea for every human being to take these “seven minutes” and reflect on all the things you pointed out. It’s quite cathartic (and even joyful!). Thank you! :-)
