I’m Back

Hello Again All.  Computers back up and honestly, in better shape than it was before.   Now I don’t have to worry about all the excess crap that HP puts in your computers trying to get you to buy something.  It’s down to just an operating system and what I want on it.   Plus I got a great deal on a 250G drive.

  1. Great stuff, brother. Welcome back!

There’s a reason I don’t buy PCs from manufacturers but build my own. I absolutely cannot fathom why these folks love to put in so much bloatware…

250gb sounds great — that’s at least 4 times the capacity of my hard disk. Yes, I am backward, but am resisting upgrading until I save enough for that MacBook. Besides, my 80gb isn’t even half full coz I tend to clean out often. Say, did you know that I just found out that there are now 1 TERABYTE hard disks for the consumer market?!

  2. Thanks Isaiah. I’ve never actually heard this stuff called bloatware before, but I cannot think of a better descriptor for it. It’s kind of like the heavy stuff that you eat late and night and it doesn’t do anything but sit on your stomach. I guess the reason that they put it in there is the same reason that stores put small items at the checkout. Someone is always going to buy it.

I found a really good deal on the 250. I was running 120 before and was nowhere near filling it up. I’m probably going to get an external this year for music, videos, ipod programs and a place to stash a copy of my c drive in case this ever happens again. I like what I have now in my laptop because there’s plenty of room for storage and none of the other stuff. I actually ran a spyware check on my original pc and just the Wild Tangent program installed for gaming had 72 instances of spyware in the programming. That’s just crazy.

I heard about the Terabyte being available to the public soon. I would never even be able to come close to filling something that big.
